my long holiday

eve of new year eve. again, i woke up as usual. packed my stuff. made a trip to the office before meeting keong. we had vegetarian lunch at home before heading to corpthorne king hotel. the purpose of the gathering was to celebrate new year day and also pris' farewell.

grace, lyd, shi qin, nick and herbert was there when keong and i arrived. grace, lyd, shi qin and i took several pictures outside the room along the corridor. but gotta wait for them to upload. later, keong and i went to join lyd. we waited for denise to come and helped carry the stuff.

in the evening, herbert, lyd, keong and i cabbed to tiong bahru plaza to get dinner. met grace and choon peng there. when we were back, jon was already there. then pris, danielle, josh and peiwen came. everyone were playing taboo while keong and i chatted at the balcony.

by late evening, left in the room were herbert, lyd, grace, choon peng, peiwen, keong and i. had nothing to do, we started applying masks. everyone then take turns to shower. most of them were watching tv when i was already asleep.

new year eve. next morning, i woke up at 8+ if im not wrong. keong and i then sat at the balcony. choon peng came back not long later with breakfast, coffee and tea. herbert also brought lotsa food to the room. after lyd, pei wen and lastly grace woke up, we went to get some tan by the pool.

at 11+, one by one, we went to shower and packed our stuff. thereafter we went our seperate ways. keong and i cabbed to his place. we spent the rest of the afternoon playing harvest moon and taking a nap. got up at 6, prepared and headed to meet reys.

keong and i arrived at MOS at around 8pm. through the journey, we took a lil time to send advance new year greetings. i received a mean reply from someone petty. the msg says "Fcuk off!" haiz. its so sad cos this period is suppose to be a time where you forgive all that has done wrong to you. moreover i havent done anything wrong to that person to deserve this. but i wouldnt let the person spoil my mood. i believe that i have done my part. moreover, its a joyful season. =D

when we got there, the queue was already so so so freaking long, we had to queue across the road, somewhere near the overhead bridge. that was how exagerrating it is. we queued and queued, keong was getting frustrated with the rowdy people. reys, haze and andy only came like an hour later. looking at the queue, reys actually wanted to go to momo instead. tried asking vivienne but she hadnt got there. we were still deciding what to do when 2 gals approached us. they said they had placed their IC in the car and asked if we could help. reys and haze followed them to see whats going on before they decided to help them. so, from the back of the queue, we advanced to the front. the queue was totally disorganized, people cutting queue everywhere. everyone was perspiring and it was so warm. we were really like sardines packed in a tin. imagine the air you breathe in is actually warm. keong's sis and cuzy came not long later.

MOS finally opened the door at 9.30pm, but the queue was still as long and they let in only few people at a time. so from 9.30pm, we waited and waited. 11.15pm, we were still queueing but already somewhere near the door. reys analysed that we might get in by 11.45pm. half an hour passed, guess the outcome?

keong and i decided not to waste 60 bucks and anyway, we had to get supper for his parents. we left the queue and walked around to see if we could get supper anywhere.

suddenly, we see sparks from behind the overhead bridge and it sounds like... ... fireworks!!! we walked ahead and took some pictures. it was so nice. keong was shooting a video when a bus had to pass by and blocked the finale of the fireworks which was the most magnificent. :( but to think on the bright side, we wouldnt have seen it if we were still queueing.

we got home at around 1+. after a shower, i sat in front of the television and played harvest moon again. haha. we are so addicted to this game. got sleepy at 4+ and fell asleep.

new year day. we walked to the interchange and bought lunch for everyone. spent half the day playing harvest moon. in the evening, keong accompanied me to buy dinner for my aunt and sent me home.

2nd day of the new year. wanted to blog when i was asked to take a bathe. after i prepared, aunts, eml, alaric and i cabbed to cityhall. we went to robinsons cos my aunt needed to buy one more set of comforter. since we are at raffles city shopping centre, i wouldnt missed hagen daz ice cream. i got a strawberry ice cream, eml got a lemon sorbet and alaric got tiramisu and belgian chocolate.

we took the train and alaric alighted at somerset while the rest of us at orchard. i accompanied eml to charles and keith while my aunts went to get chicken for dinner. thereafter we went to iora cos our princess eml need to get suit. was so bored cos the clothes aint my type and the place was so packed. i was even knocked by a lady in the shoulder. she only apologised after i said "ouch!"

aunt cat accompanied me to charles and keith while eml was still trying her suit. i wanted to buy a pair of white and black heels but they didnt had my size. but i ended up buying this white heels with a green butterfly. thought the butterfly was really nice. it comes in 3 colours - purple, black and white. after consultation from eml, i decided to get the white one. though aunt jen said its too extravagent.

was running out of time, eml and i went to queue for cab. we took the cab to IKEA. walked round looking for my bro's bed. tried to ask for assistance but the staff there aint of any help. she told us to go to the showroom. when we got there, we couldnt find what we asked for. we had to walked all the way back. made measurements and some calculations before aunt cat decided to get that bed frame. next, the bed mattress. we went to the bed mattress section and tested the mattress. finally, we decided on the original bed mattress. we walked on while watching out for tables and cabinets that can fit my bro's room. came across this corner workstation. again, made some measurements and calculations and decided to get it. aunts also saw this cabinet that they thought could blend into his room.

with all that, we went to make payment. a total of 3 bulky items plus 3 fabric foldable storage boxes. there was so many people and most were irritated. after payment, we had to queue again for home delivery. to make things worse, delivery charge is 40 bucks and assembly charge is 5% of the item. aunt cat was saying that she doesnt understand why so many people shop at IKEA when the things aint cheap after you add all the additional charges. she was thirsty so she asked eml and i to go to the cafe on level 2 to collect the free drinks. eml and i had to walk through the crowd to the cafe. when we got there, the cashier said that there is no take-away. she gave us 2 glasses and i grabbed 2 plastic cups from the side. we filled the 2 plastic cups with ice tea and headed to the exit. it wasnt easy holding on a plastic cup trying to find our way through the crowd. so much for just a drink. we were so freaking frustrated. got to the taxi-stand where my aunts were waiting.

we took a cab home, had dinner and i watched tv till 9pm. headed to william's place for a haircut. alaric and i only got home at 10+. took a bathe and waited for my hair to dry up before going to sleep.

3rd traffic police test

took leave today. woke up as usual and went home home. bought breakfast for darl and waited for him. after breakfast, we sent teddy to the airport. waited till he entered the departure gate before we went to terminal 2. had some drinks at starbucks while waiting for time to pass. keong had vanilla steam milk while i had freshly brewed coffee with almond cranberry biscotti.

at 11.30am. we headed to the train station and boarded the train towards tanah merah. we intended to transfer train to eunos. while i was on the train, i realised i've got a missed call from mr lim. he told me that my lesson is actually 11.30am. was late so we alighted at tanah merah and took a cab. the traffic was not in my favour. got there at 12.20pm. after the warm up, i waited outside the balloting room. i messaged mr lim my test route and tester. i called him after the senior tester left and he told me that i can stop taking my license if i fail cos the tester i've got is considered the best tester.

i was so scared that my legs were weak. i made a wide turn out from the parking lot. headed into the circuit. prayed hard that nothing would go wrong. nearly hit the curb at S-course. i think i didnt release my handbrake totally after the slope cos at some point in time, i saw the tester released the handbrake. my common mistake. :X no immediate failure in the circuit. *sigh of relief* time to hit the road. it started drizzling minutes later. didnt exactly went the route that i was supposingly tested. after i made a turn into the driving centre, it started raining heavily. tried to increase the speed of the windscreen wiper but wasnt successful. the tester then increased the speed for me. so embarrassing. there was this car parked at the porch and i saw mr lim asking him to move out. the test finally ended, i went up to level 2 for debrief. the tester looked at my PDL for what seems eternity before he said "okie. passed!" i was so happy that i didnt know how to react. i just said "Thank you!"

i took a queue number and went downstairs to meet keong and joseph. joseph happened to be there cos he had basic theory e-trial and he was waiting for the actual test at 4. they accompanied me to take pictures and waited outside while i went to watch the road safety video. thereafter we went upstairs to get my license done. keong and i left the place at 3+. it was still raining so we had to take a cab. we went to lot 1 sakae for lunch. then headed to his place for harvest moon.

thanks everyone for the blessings. darl, grace, hazel, sarah... ... and also ken. if wasnt of him, i wouldnt even get started. but of course credits goes to my instructor, i must say that hes really good. thanks lyd for your great recommendation~!

conclusion for the year

was late for work today as usual. have been cabbing a lil too much lately. its time to cut down. i used to set alarm at 7.30 and i would be approximately 15 to 20 mins late. but lately i have set my alarm to 7.00 so supposingly i should be earlier but it is just the opposite. so now im half an hour late. reason being i switched off my alarm and go back to sleep cos i know im still early.

lunch time was spent at metro warehouse sales with grace and sarah. i bought a bag which costs only $13.90. packed BK back to the office.

after lunch, i went through my previous entries. all the way back from january till august. didnt had the time to read everything though. but my conclusion for the year is...

a year isnt long nor is it short. but in this one year, several things have happened. things werent too good during the start of the year. i was rather pessimetic but things had slowly got better. i have to thank everyone who were there in my life and helped me in a way or another. be it friends, enemies...... i realised the people who were there when i was down was reys, linli, cryst, cai feng, ken and more... you guys have been great people.

in this year, i have been through alot. probably more than i have the last 19 years. i've seen alot more and learn a great load of things from experiences, good or bad and also from friends, supervisors, managers, colleagues and more... i also got to know many great people like lyd, pris, herbert, jasmine, amelia, vivian, choon peng, javvy, hazel and many many many more.

through my entries, i realised my life has been much more fulfilling than i thought. i always think my life was boring and plain. but it seems like every other day, i would be out. spending my time with friends and family members.

im really contented with what i have and i definitely appreciated everyone and everything i have. a big THANK YOU to all who made a difference in my life and have left beautiful memories, and im sure i'll have more beautiful memories in time to come. i also want to take the opportunity to apologise to all i have done wrong to. im sincerely sorry.

with that, its time to start thinking about my new year resolution and look forward to a better year ahead.

my xmas eve, xmas and boxing day~!

christmas eve. in the morning, i went to keong's place. gave him a lil surprise. we met at his lobby and went to lot 1 for lunch. lunch was bistro delifrance. the food wasnt great and rather expensive. not recommendable. 1 star out of 5.

thereafter we bought a bangle and a small cake for mummy. back at home, he watched while i played harvest moon. in the afternoon, keong accompanied me for lesson. right after lesson, we had to rush off to tampines. had haagen daz cos i was craving for it. the staff made us all confused, she said "we serve fondue but we dont serve it at the moment" we were like huh? it took a short while before i got what she is trying to say.

at 6.15pm, we met my cuzy, ric and his friend, joseph to collect the beef, ham, pie and cake. then we shared a cab home. we were having a family xmas party at home. everyone was busy preparing food. keong was enjoying himself playing cards with my cuzies and uncle while eml and i had to help with the wrapping of pressies. at 10+, keong and i accompanied my aunt back home before we headed to alley bar. met up with reys, linli, joan, haze, eunice and ah cai. great gathering. played 5, 10 and managed to finish the entire bottle of chivas.

headed home with eunice and ah cai. after i got home, i still had the lil energy to play harvest moon. fell asleep after a short while though.

christmas. got up at 10+ the next day and it was time to play harvest moon again. in the evening, we met up with grace, lyd, shi qin, javvy, choon peng... for dinner. dinn was thai express. thereafter i had to leave for home cos didnt want aunts to be unhappy. on the way, we bought haggen daz. simply heavenly. keong announced that its time to move out of butterscotch and start appreciating tiramisu and macadamia nut. hehe. he sent me home before heading home.

boxing day. brunch was at carlton hotel with my family. yummy~! the dim sum there is just so fabulous. after lunch, it was eml, ric, granny, uncle and aunts to shopping. first stop was robinsons at cityhall. aunts bought a total 2K worth of bed linen. eml and i bought lingerie, eye liner, mascara, blusher...... then later we went to robinsons at somerset and aunt bought tableware totalling up to 700. i bought in the late evening, i went to meet keong for dinner. we packed food from one of the food centre and thereafter it was time for moon harvest again. :X played till i got sleepy. went home. showered and fell asleep.

christmas is here...!

beginning to feel the atmosphere of christmas. lovely christmas decorations and trees. the sound of carols. christmas sales all around. crowds everywhere. people doing last minute shopping. i have never bought this many pressies. erm.. *counting* 1..2..3.....10....15...18....24. thats including all my cuzies.

keong is reprimanding me. asking how much have i spent on everything. seriously i have no idea. prob i will start counting soon. haha.

the moment i got to my work station. i saw 3 pressies on my desk. i was like "wow!" cos i seriously didnt expected it at all. they were from hazel, marcia and terry. then i went to place the secret santa pressie into the box in kevin's (big boss) room. had a tough time trying to find the envelopes where all the stickers with everyone's name was in. not long later, mel gave me another pressie.

i didnt know about dept lunch so i went to pack lunch with sarah. when i was back, hazel asked me why did i bought lunch. i told her i didnt know about it. hmm. i suppose they forgot to cc me in the mail. anyway, i still went with them. lunch was indian cuisine at pan pacific.

after lunch, it was time for secret santa gifts. everyone had to open their pressies and guess who was the one who gave it to them. i guessed sylvia was my secret santa but it turned out to be hazel. which means i have 2 pressies from hazel. yay~! haha.

mel gave hazel, charmie, sylvia and me back to the office. its back to work. just before i left office, i uploaded the pictures cos vivian says i take a long time to upload. ;p after work, its time to go home for dinner. i took a cab home. excuse being i was carrying all my 7 christmas pressies home and its heavy plus its raining. haha. today is chinese "dong re". dont really know what is it about but i heard its to celebrate the harvest. im simpler terms. a celebration before cny.

sumptous dinner. steamboat and chicken curry. theres pork, chicken, sotong, fishball, vegetables, mushrooms, sea cucumber, abalone, fish so fresh its a lil transparent and prawns which are so huge and more... yummy~! after dinner. we still had to eat "tang yuan" (glutinous ball). the peanut "tang yuan" was so yums. helped with a lil wrapping of pressies.

rested for awhile before showering. thereafter had to apply "xi gua shuang" cos i have this terrible ulcer. all thanks to my clumsiness when i was brushing my teeth. its been 4 days and its getting worse. cant even smile. hope it will better tomorrow.

JB Trip

met keong at his place at 10+. started wrapping xmas pressies i bought. keong says he feels like a santa. but i told him he exagerrated. haha. was supposed to meet vivian at 12 but we only finished wrapping all the pressies at minutes before 12.

right after we were done. we quickly took a cab to woodlands to meet up with vivian and nixion. nixion drove us in. good traffic cos no jam. yay~! first stop was to exchange money and nixion got car coupons. then we went for lunch. nixion was the one who placed the order. we had bak kut teh with golden mushrooms, some claypot chicken, fish and preserved vegetables. (if im not wrong but vivian would know better)

after lunch. shopping starts. we went to holiday plaza to enquire about vivian's contact lenses. one of the staff gave vivian empty promise last week. *angry* we waited and waited in the shop. keong was asked to be the contact lense model with request from vivian. at last, the manager then told vivian to wait 10 minutes. meanwhile, keong brought us to the optical shop that he got his lenses from. again, he was the model for yet another 2 contact lense. after he tried the 2 contact lenses, vivian decided to go back downstairs to get her deposit and get the lenses from the shop keong recommended.

keong wanted to take a breather so vivian and nixion went back to the optical shop first. after we were done, we headed to look for them. stopped by a shop and bought a top. then we went downstairs to check if they will still be in the shop cos we took a rather long time. to our surprise, they were still there. the manager then gave her the best offer he could because they do not have the permanent ones. we were about to leave when we past by a shop selling ps2 games. tempted, keong and i bought 3 games. somehow, keong and i mentioned about tycoon game and nixion suggested going to the shop he goes to. went up and i bought restaurant empire. although its not pizza tycoon but its some sort of a substitute which im happy enough. vivian bought 4 games. one of which is prison tycoon. sadist huh? haha

finally, we left and went to pelangi cos vivian wanted to get sport shoes. we window shopped around the mall before settling for dinner at this posh looking japanese restaurant. pictures speak louder so look at the pictures below and make your own judgements.

after dinner, we had to rush off cos keong and i were meeting lydie for movie at 9pm. dropped by the petrol station then headed to the custom. a rather bad jam. fierce traffic. i wouldnt dare drive in that kind of traffic. later the plan was changed cos poor lydie got to pack her cupboard. nixion then sent us to keong's place.

i was so excited i started playing the game - harvest moon: a wonderful life - once i got to his place. this is the latest version with better graphics as compared to the first. indeed its better graphic but i spent half my time going in rounds looking for my farm after shopping for some seeds. keong helped me look for my farm too and he managed to find it in the end after so so so long. my character was about to die of fatigue. :X somewhat different to the previous one. for a wonderful life, the graphics are more of reality and the colours are a lil dull. as for saving my homeland, the graphics are cartoons and colours are brighter. probably im not used to finding my way round the new village. got pissed and i gave up.

later, i took a cab home. was so sleepy and i thought i could sleep after a shower. but i had to take my dinn. more like supper though. by the time i could lie on my bed, it was already 1.30am. what a long long day.

nonetheless i enjoyed myself alot. not so much about the place but the company. i was laughing away half the time. firstly, a big thank you to vivian for everything. secondly, thanks nixion for the rides. really really appreciated it. they are just so funny. (i wont thank keong cos he wont be happy if im polite with him. ;p)
