new look
its been 3 weeks since i cut my hair. so this post came a lil late but better late than never.

introducing my new hairstyle..

few weeks later..

i get comments like

- cute but weird.
- your hair looks funny.
- why did you cut such a hairstyle?
- oh! the rainie yang's hairstyle.
- omg! your hair is so short now!

- reminds me of mario.
- looks like a helmet.

- looks like 70s hairstyle, cut with the help of a bowl. (obviously tasteless!)

i still prefer my long hair. if you're curious, i didn't choose to cut this hairstyle. my hairstylist is pretty irritated with my messy hair due to after-effects of rebonding, so she snipped off the entire part of untidy, dyed, damaged and unmanageable hair. yeps. new hairstyle, new look.. but my face looks rounder and chubbier! )=

i'm waiting for it to grow long again. grow.. grow faster..

quality time
the bf picked me up from work. we met up with bestie and cp at bugis. congratulations cp! exams are finally over. i think we were all in a pretty good mood for whatever reasons. i havent laugh so much in a long time. oh.. did i mentioned i pissed them off by being lame all night? cp tried to "suan" me with my own lame antics.

after grace's haircut, we went to sim lim to collect keong's lappy. while we were walking there, grace decided to get ice cream from an ice cream peddler. there were 2 peddlers so grace decided to patronise the auntie cos there was no one at her stall. she bought an ice cream cone (mixed flavours) and i bought a yam ice cream with biscuits. the ice creams started a series of laughter from ice cream dropping on grace's shoes, my yam ice cream is not what i wanted, the guys being gay for sharing ice cream and the auntie being not happy cos i complained about her yam ice cream.

later, we had dinner at blue jazz. the food was yummy as usual. great company with good food. what could be better?

my bestie will be leaving for japan for a holiday tomorrow. so nice right..? i will miss you!! remember to take lotsa pictures and have fun! last but not least, bon voyage!

fish and chips, obviously
- value for money: $9.90

chicken chop with black pepper sauce (my fave)
- $8.90 if i'm not wrong

e girlies..
saturday afternoon, the bf and watch the doraemon movie. as usual, we missed the first 10 - 15 mins of the show. the cinema where we watched the movie is actually for preview movies. the show was funny but really meant for kids. definitely not worth $8.50 or whatsoever watching. we thought the show was abit too long and we still prefer the weekend morning 30 mins show. anyway, after like half the show, there was practically no one else in the cinema except us. thats how pathetic. when we booked for the tickets, there were like 8 seats taken so you can imagine. i remember there was this family with 2 kids. the dad was snoring away on the other side. then soon after, they left the cinema. haha. quite a waste, i say.

we left cine to meet up with grace at taka coffee bean. havent seen her in awhile. soon, lyd and qin came. after keong left for work, we shopped around taka, had some snacks at the food court before lyd left for church. together with pei, we went to plaza sing to play arcade. there wasnt many games we fancy , or at least i fancy, until pei or qin noticed this game around the corner. the game exhausted our energy, we have to like turn a controller (shaped like a shower head) frantically, hit the screen like some crazy woman and dragging the controller up and down. it was crazy fun. really can train your arm muscle lo. my arm was like aching the next day. must go play again some day! oh.. grace and i did make a good team, like for once. =)

after having fish noodles at the food court, grace left for home. i joined lyd, qin and pei for some drinks along alley bar. we stayed till 12+am before i shared a cab home with qin.

a crazy girlies outing..

east coast road
last night, the bf and i went for a food hunting trip along east coast road.

first stop: authentic hong kong cafe
address: 378/380 East Coast Road

pork chop rice with seven spices sauce

carrot cake (yummy but too oily)

my friend, sotong
fried and seasoned with salt and spices

i forgot to take pictures of our beverages. the bf ordered milk tea (si wa nai cha) and i ordered my fave, strawberry fantasy. the milk tea was good, thick, not too sweet and the milk doesnt overpower the tea. but sad to say, my strawberry fantasy was very very disappointing. for $4.90, the bf said it tasted like the 20cents flavoured ice stick that we used to break into half before we eat when we were young. the last time i drank, it was so heavenly. it tasted like strawberry margarita, nicer but without the margarita. i thought the food wasnt worth the trip although the service was pretty good.

second stop: ice cream chef
address: 520 East Coast Road #01-06

at 10-ish, i was surprised to see so many people queueing in the small store. the bf and i even had to wait outside the shop for a moment before we could get in. the choices of ice cream were pretty limited, watermelon, capuccino, granny smith (green apple and cinnamon), cookies and cream and a few others. but i think they are coming up with more flavours. the wonderful part: their ice cream are all homemade. the bf asked which store do you think is the pioneer for "cooking" ice cream on cold rock. i said i dont know, maybe cold rock ice creamery. but i will say i prefer ice cream chef to cold rock ice creamery, cos their service staff serve with cheery smiles and their ice cream tasted better. their ice cream are said to be smoother and denser cos it contains less air, due to their special preparation method. a regular serving size cost 3.10 and a large serving size cost 4.80. each mix-in costs only 70 cents. worth a try, i say.

last stop: cheesecake cafe
address: 685 East Coast Road (Near Siglap Centre)

we had rum and raisin cheesecake and a pot of strawberry tea. even though we were almost to the brim, but the cheesecake was damn good. the rum was not too strong and the texture was just right. rum and raisin cheesecake is one of their speciality so it costs a lil more than the usual ones. $6.90/slice. the appearance of the store was not what i expected, not your usual cafe. the counter display many antiques and old-school stuff. there is a water fountain somewhere behind where we were sitting and i like the bling bling drapes. the lightings were dim and it makes the patrons feel cozy. the place to satisfy your cheesecake cravings!

a fulfilling and satisfying trip..

so long farewell..
there was a farewell dinner for the big boss earlier on. before the dinner, i rushed to bugis to get a gift for the bf cos its our 22nd month anniversary. we didn't used to celebrate our anniversaries (except the first few months) but one day, i decided that we should do it cos it allows us to remember the journey we took to be where we are today and not to take each other for granted. i had in mind a tee-shirt or a car key holder. i didnt see any nice tee-shirt in edc so i decided to head to BHG to look at the car key holders. i had a hard time looking for it cos i didnt realise i was at the ladies level until the sales promoter told me to try the second (men's) level. i didnt had much trouble deciding one among the five designs and colours they had.

with that, i rushed back to the office. there was only 2 person left in the office, the rest had gone downstairs, to asia grand restaurant, located at level 1 of odeon towers. i waited for my supervisor to go down together. the lady at the entrance led us into a room, separated from the main dining area. i was amazed by the interior of the restaurant. from the outside, it looks much smaller and less classy. the food was served in a banquet style, one dish at a time. at 9pm, we had just finished our last dish. the bf had already been waiting for me since 8pm and we had a movie at 9.30pm. after much hesistation, i left the room. the bf wasnt very pleased.

we were 15mins late for our movie: the enchanted. luckily, we didnt missed the important part. we were just in time to see the witch psychoed the princess-to-be to make a wish at the well. overall, it was a very funny, light-hearted and predictable show. the bf fave character is the chipmunk cos he looks so extremely cute when the prince didnt get his msg. catch it if you need some laughs.

the past two weeks have been a blur. i feel as though i was living through someone else's life, locked out from the outside world and all connections have been cut off. the lazy bug has got to me and i've been day-dreaming my days away. i havent been very much bothered about my mobile, its practically not in my possession most of the time; lying around in some corner of the room. one of the contributing factor might be that everyone else is so busy. undergrads are studying for their exams, my fave lady busy with her life and currently out of town, my bestie been recuperating and busy with work, even the bf is busy with work. it doesnt help that i havent been in the pink of health, i was on mc on thursday and friday, with nothing to do at home buy play games, sleep, watch tv. how boring can my life get?

super pissed
early morning, someone asked me a question, a funny, meaningless question. but i still answered it honestly. to my surprise, my answer wasnt acceptable. it was interpreted in someone else's way, in a negative way that is. how ridiculous!!

then, i was late for work cos i had so much to pack before i could leave home. after i arrived at the carpark, i thought of getting some quick breakfast from cheers. before i stepped into the store, i took out a dollar coin from my purse. i took a cappucino roll instead of strawberry roll to save the trouble of taking out another 20 cents. but somehow, the cashier couldnt differentiate between strawberry, chocolate and cappucino roll!!! by the way, chocolate and cappucino rolls are a dollar. so how on earth did my cappucino roll looked like strawberry roll. seriously, its not about the money. but why do i have to pay $1.20 for something that is $1. he was taking way too long (walking in and out of the cashier to look at the label which has obviously been placed wrongly) and there was someone queueing behind me so i said forget it and i paid him $1.20. how can someone be so not smart??!!!

i think im having problem managing my anger. maybe its just me.

bliss mood
tuesday, 30th. i met up with qin, pei and dan in town to get lyd's pressie!! after dinner, we walked around from raffles city shopping centre to takashimaya to ck tangs, to look for the most suitable pressies.

wednesday, 31st. the bf and i went to visit my bestie at her place cos its my off day!! we chatted over mac breakfast. the breakfast was disastrous cos the auntie who packed my order forgot my sausage in my hotcake w sausage meal. and also, our hash browns!!! )= but luckily, they offered to send it to grace's place. piping hot hash browns and 3 extra hotcakes. *happy* later, i accompanied the bf to the hospital for his checkup. doctor says the screw is to be remained where it is. i can see the bf is very sad. )_= although the doctor says its best not to remove cos its hard to find the screw and he has to sacrifice the blood flowing to the ankle, if he operates on it again. but i'll still pray and hope that he'll be able to remove it one day, without having to sacrifice the blood flow, of course. who knows if future technology will allow that.

friday, 2th. a day of celebrations!!! i met up with cp, lyd, qin and pei at some ulu road i forgot the name. we settled for a restaurant behind blue jazz. it was nice and cozy, some indian or exotic cuisine. lyd's gigantic birthday card is damn pretty lo. thanks to the artistic qin. and the cake looks great too!

soon, we had to rush off to one rochester cos reys, yx, eu, yingying, joan and eil were waiting for us. another birthday celebration! happy birthday eunice!!! they were almost done with eating when we got there. it was a nice place i thought. we were sitting in the garden i think. outdoor, close to nature, cosy, comfy and clean. good for gathering. in fact, i like the place very much. the food was pretty nice too, a lil pricey though. but the atmosphere, friendly service staff and everything else definitely make your money worth.

saturday, 3th. i met up with angela and sky in bugis. we had lunch at swensens. swensens is currently having a promotion; buy one sundae and get another free. perfect for an ice cream lover like me. after angela and sky left, i met up with cp to buy a shirt for the bf. we walked along bugis village and bugis junction. finally, we managed to get a suitable one for him but i have to collect it from vivo cos the shop was out of stock. in the evening, the bf and i made a trip to vivo to collect the shirt and do some window shopping.

sunday, 4th. the bf and i met up with grace, lyd and qin at paragon coffee bean cos we havent met up in quite awhile. later, we went to holiday inn park view to attend willy's wedding. my second time to a friend's wedding, first time to a guy friend's wedding. so i didnt know the procedures, quite embarassing. but there's always a first time to everything. its also the bf's first time to a wedding, not mentioning the times we went to a wedding when we were like really young. wedding has always make me feel so blissful.. a love so true.
