last friday of the month
i met reys at coffee club after work. yar.. at last, somewhere for a change. i thought the food was pretty yummy. i had slipper lobster linguini and muddy mud pie.

i was looking around when i suddenly remember i want to get a watch and berms for keong. so we left for heeren's city chain. while we were walking there, reys remembered today is the last friday of the month which means midnight shopping! yay.. city chain had so many similar designs in that series. i bought the one that appealed more to me. reys thought the other one which is all black is nicer. since the operating hours are extended, we decided to do some shopping. unfortunately, most of the stores are closed, which we later found out midnight shopping applies to only wisma and centrepoint. nonetheless, we managed to get a black pants.

over at wisma, not all the shops participated in the campaign. topshop and esp. charles and keith was unusually crowded. we didnt managed to get anything. and taka had already closed by the time i got the watch, so the berms had to wait till another time.

total damage for the day: 254.90

not my day
its so not my day la~!

i was late for work.
i dropped tuna can while preparing breakfast.
i dropped margarine tub when i was about to keep it inside the fridge.
my cashcard was out of money, so topping it up would mean late + late..
the traffic wasn't the least friendly.
jam, jam and jam for no particular reason.

not to mention yesterday, i was so stress at work but i still manage to keep myself sane.
maybe i overused my brain, i was so wobbly on the bike.
felt so uneasy.

things are getting pretty weird lately.
and its making me temperamental and irritated.

women are temperamental creatures.
why is that so?
sometimes. we feel moody out of a sudden without a reason

talking about weird.
the weather. enough said.

then the other day,
on my way home from the bf house,
kje was exceptionally quiet,
on bke, there were so big vehicles. (at 10.40pm!!!)
i was checking the mirror when this freaking big vehicle,
with his air horn honked for god knows what reason.
i jumped!
i got so mad, i turned full trotter.
until i calmed myself down.
how irritating right?

okie. im sorry. i just need to rant.

anyway, i just received a message that somehow make me feel like im being accused.
maybe its just me being too sensitive.

no one is to be blame.
no one deserves to be screamed at just bcos i cannot control.
so leave me alone.
i'll be fine after awhile.
maybe after lunch?

i can hear ice cream and chocolates calling out..

it must be the stress. shit stuff.

comfort zone
lately, i've realised one thing. i've been staying in my comfort zone for too long. i do what singaporeans do best - complain, complain about everything and blaming the whole world for the state i am in, instead of doing something about it. and at the end of the month, struggle with the meagre pay. its funny how people say they want to be successful but they just sit around, waiting for things to happen.

its amazing how things change so quickly, before you even know it. sometimes, i feel its good to pause for awhile and listen. listen to the people around you, listen to your inner self. i realised how lazy i've been all these years. after my o'levels prelims, i've lost the determination and drive, which explains my pathetic results. i remember when i first started working in discovery networks asia, i was so full of drive. i would always finish my work on hand in the fastest time possible before the dateline. there were times i stayed late in the office and my supervisor would rush me home. even when i'm on mc, i insisted on going to work. gone were the dreams, goals and determination of striving to be successful.

everything has changed. maybe even after 2 years, i have yet to adapt to the working society. i guess i was too protected, not that its bad. i know they only meant well. through the adaptation process, i've become someone i'm not. i'm no longer strong and in fact, i have a weak mind. i allowed my body to control my mind.

i'm starting to really think of the future and do something about it (not just thinking and saying), find back the determination and spirit i used to have. i need to stop deceiving myself. i've been lazing around for too long. i need to learn more, grow up and earn more money! money may not be the most important thing but we cannot deny that money is an essential in life and in today's society, without money, you're nothing.

i took a step to leave my comfort zone and fight for my success. i know i can succeed and i will!

..all thanks to the talk i had.

new stuff

i met the bf after work. before we went to the carpark, he brought me to an electronics shop and bought me the gold casio watch i didnt manage to get at mustafa the other day. *smile*

then, we went to mah motor to pay for the bike. i told mr mah about the increasing noise my bike has been making since i first rode it. he got the mechanic to do a basic check. the mechanic merely start my bike and trotter. he said it sounds normal. a lil relieved though not 100% convinced. but anyway, servicing is free cos i've got 1 year warranty. so why not? im going to bring the bike for servicing soon, once i plan the date.

we went to the shops around the corner to look for raincoats. its been raining too much lately and i seriously need a raincoat, which i should already haven gotten months ago. we went to eugene, which specialises in customised seats. a standard one cost only S$40 so the bf ask if i want to change my seat. im actually pretty happy with my current one.

we went to ah boy but their raincoats selection are pretty little. we walked around the area and stopped at regina, ah boy's sister company. we saw an aikoh helmet which was damn cool. the helmet got 2 visor (the visor covers only the eye area) - the normal transparent and black. helmet with the sunglass. the visor can be changed by just a button. its a full face helmet but the jaw part is removable. the colour not my kind and the price was definitely way out. make a guess??

S$380

i laid my eyes on a black arai raincoat but the shop assistant introduced an ogk ladies cut to me. i never knew biker raincoats come in ladies sizes. the main colour of the raincoat is blue, not my colour. the shop assistant explained that raincoats hardly come in black cos how to see at night. true i thought so the bf bought me the raincoat at S$60. the bf, as usual, refused to buy himself anything cos he thinks its a waste of money to buy things for himself, but not for me. -_-

we were about to head for home when i saw a signboard "momodesign" at one of a bike shop. we made a u-turn and went to the shop. the helmets look bigger than what i see in picture but its nice and also expensive. the price range from 280 to 380. madness la. so there goes my aikoh and momodesign helmets. the helmets match my bike la.. but way too expensive. i wouldnt pay more than 100 for a helmet when im riding a vespa. hmm.. maybe i dont mind paying that price for a full-face if im riding rvf. lol

a happy girl with new watch and raincoat..

smile
having a bad week. i'm down with stomach flu and i had to stay home on tuesday, till now, i still get attacks of stomach cramp.

like its not enough, i get nagged at as usual, screamed at just because i want to bring my hp and wallet along with me (how ridiculous!), scolded for the food i've eaten (i can't do anything now that i've already eaten it except to watch my diet next time). i feel bad enough, and i don't need anymore negative vibes. thats not it, my calls are not answered, i don't get calls, i'm accused of being in the wrong.. it's all about me, isn't it?

i think we should smile more often, because your friends who hang out with you will be affected by your mood. and i'm trying to smile as much as i can, but i can't do it if i keep getting negative vibes.

smile, cos it makes you feel good. even when you're angry, it somehow makes you feel better.

smile bcos you never know who is falling in love with your smile..

thailand trip
Finally, my thailand trip pictures. i spent like hours resizing the pictures.

Day 1. we woke up at 5.30am and left my mum's place at 6.30am. at home, my mum was taking her own sweet time to get ready cos she thought the flight was 8+am. not until i told her in the cab that our flight was 7.10am, she was still wondering why was i rushing her. i had to run to the counter the very second i alighted from the cab. was reprimanded by the staff.

we arrived at bkk airport at 8.35am, bangkok time. we collected our bags and went for lunch.

at 1+pm, we arrived at chiang rai airport. my aunt, uncle and cousin came to pick us up. we had lunch at a shopping mall before going to the supermarket.

next morning, after breakfast, we set off for mae sai. we spent half our day there. then, we went to the temple.

3rd day in chiangrai. we went to the hairdresser. by the time we were done, it was already early evening. we went for dinner at the same restaurant we had the day before. later, my uncles brought us to this night bazaar. didn't manage to get anything at all cos my mum wanted to go home early.

our last day in chiangrai, first day in bangkok. we woke up at 5.30am, set off to the airport. we had breakfast before boarding the plane.

we arrived at bangkok aiport at 9-ish.

following, we took a cab to the hotel. we registered and they checked us in early. the hotel was damn nice la right after we settled down, we took the train to siam and went to siam paragon, gourmet market. their train station works exactly like how we used to, with farecards. not very cheap either, S$1 to S$3. at gourmet market, we bought drinks, lotsa snacks, chocolates and dunkin' donuts.

when we were back, we met grace and cp at the lobby. our first destination: mbk. lunch awas at fifth avenue, a food court that works like the village. at night, we visited suan lum night bazaar.

the next day, we went for breakfast at 9am. then we took the shuttle bus to BTS station, where the Sathorn Pier is. we took the chao praya express boat to khao san road. we had only 2+hours to shop so we were like rushing, to catch the last boat. back on mainland, we went to mbk. we had dinner at this restaurant that serves yummy and cheap sharksfin and bird nest. 300 baht for a claypot of sharksfin and 100 baht for a bowl of bird nest.

our last day in bangkok. after breakfast, we went to chatuchak. oh! i forgot to mention the breakfast they serve at the hotel is pretty yummy. lots of choice too. back to chatuchak, that place is definitely like what they say, very warm. a must to have - lotsa water. not to mention their alley are like damn narrow. there were like 20+ sections and thousands of stalls. their sections are not organised, they are like all over so we just try to cover whatever we can. by 3pm, my legs were like breaking and my feet were sore from walking. we left the place at 4+pm.

we headed to mbk again, for some last minute shopping. then, we rushed back to the hotel. we got changed before going to the restaurant for our poolside dinner. we were given a menu, which we are allowed to order 2 servings of the main course. besides that, there are free flow of soup, salad, fruits and ice cream in the restaurant. just look at the pictures below. it says all.

after dinner, we went to the sky bar at the 64th level. the second tallest building in bangkok. the view was simply awesome. but the sky bar was kinda over-crowded and the drinks taste bad. too much of liquor, overpower the taste of the cocktail.

our loot

back to singapore

doing the things i like
saturday. after my facial and lunch, i met up with reys at orchard. was supposed to meet her at 3pm, then it changed to 4pm, then 5pm. before she came, i went to NYDC. angela and her friend, pearl were there, having some drinks. they were about to leave when i was at the train station but still, they were kind enough to accompany me thill my dear friend comes. =)

for once, reys decided to have something else other than NYDC. she had her early dinner while i read five people you meet in heaven. i know i'm abit slow to be reading it only now when everyone else has already read it, but at least i read it. we shopped around heerens.

we went to chill at coffee club. i had muddy mudpie. the slice was so huge, there was no way i could finish it. i've been having this craving for ice-cream and chocolates lately. earlier in the afternoon, i just eaten two scoops of new zealand ice-cream - cookies and cream and chocolate fudge brownie. the chocolate fudge brownie was terrible la. my opinion that is. its like when you swallow, it makes your throat feel terrible, like you'll get a sore throat after that. not satisfying.

keong came to join me after his work ended, and reys left to meet her bf. he had country pie for his dinner. the portion is a lil too small but it taste pretty yummy. anyway, he didn't have a good appetite so it was just right for him.

i sent him home.. technically, he sent me to his home, before i rode the bike home.

sunday. supposed to go church with grace and lyd, but it didn't happen. after lunch, i went to keong's place. i nearly died. there was this bus in front of me. i think the driver intended to turn into the multi-storey carpark (is it even possible? i mean.. there isn't any parking lot big enough for his bus), but a van was trying to turn out. so this bus was practically on two lanes and blocking the entrance and exit. suddenly, he decided to change his direction of movement, he reversed!!! i'm too nice to honk him (i've never use my bike's horn. maybe im too timid. haha) so i tried to reverse on my feet. the car some distance behind me started honking at the bus cos he must have not noticed my lil black sheep and me right behind his ass! with enough space, i quickly turn right, making one round. (they always have an empty area near the rubbish chute storage area) i looked at him and i wonder wth he was doing. he sticked his head out of the window and muttered something. i couldn't hear cos of the helmet and my ear piece. i think he said something like the van wanted to turn out so he had to reserve or something along that line. anyway, after he reverse into the adjacent road, with just enough space for me to go through, i made my way to the carpark. lesson learnt: learn to honk!!!

after keong sent me to his workplace, i rode the bike to angela's place. we played mahjong; angela, her mum, pearl and me. we only spent 2 hours or so playing the 1st round. so we decided to go for another 1/2 round. angela's mum "diao zeng" 5 times (win continuously for 5 times), pearl 2 times (if i'm not wrong) then i "hu" (game) 1 round. in the end, we stopped playing at "dong".

my school fees: 6.50
pearl's school fees: 8
angela's winning: 11
angela's mum's winning: 3.50

at the end of it, angela and her mum didn't want our money. her mum said just playing for the fun of it.

friday evening
after keong had his haircut at tamp, we went to visit lyddie over at her place, together with grace and choon peng.

later, we met up with angela and jeff. we arrived at the farmway at 9.30pm. we made our payment ($24 for 2.5hours), got our rods and chicken heart as prawn baits. there was 2 prawning "ponds", the freshwater and saltwater, if i'm not wrong. the difference..
freshwater - the prawns can be seen (water is clearer), i heard they are harder to catch and the prawns are smaller.
saltwater - the prawns cannot be seen (water is cloudy), more for beginners and the prawns have huge head and long blue claws that are sometimes longer than 15cm.

but anyhow, we were prawning at the freshwater pond cos there were so many people at the saltwater pond and they all look like experts la. everyone had their own prawning rods, which are longer and can easily reach the centre of the pond, where the prawns are all near the bubbles.

after 2.5hours, our catches are:

jeff - 4 prawns
keong - 3 prawns
angela - 2 prawns
me - 1 prawn + 4 mosquito bites (despite burning 2 mosquito coils at my feet)

actually, i lied. the prawn belongs to angela. just trying to make myself feel better. i was so close to catching one, but keong was beside me and i was afraid i would smack him with the rod. so, the prawn eventually, before i could bring the rod in, the smartass prawn managed to struggle and escape.

its okie. rebecca doesn't give up easily. i shall try again soon, at a different location though. =)

no pictures again cos my bro has yet to find my charger cable. argh!

affected plans
yesterday, i met up with reys for our usual meet-up over dinner at nydc after work. we were supposed to go for a drink after dinner but it didn't happen. we didn't stayed for long cos we are both broke. and i wanted to rush home to catch my 9pm show.. which i ended up only watching the last 10mins.

i think things aren't going as planned for me lately.. first was my ice cream and fish noodle, next up the cycling trip during the weekend, then the mustafa trip and yesterday's chilling session and today! =(

on the positive side, tomorrow is friday. and i'm going prawning!! i really hope the plan wouldn't be affected. please don't rain tomorrow night.

and i need my ice cream today, to make me feel better..

ice cream - my fave
my weekend didnt turn out the way i expected.

keong and i were supposed to go cycling on sunday but the weather wasn't in favour of it, plus keong woke up late. understandable and forgivable.. cos you worked night shift the day before right?

we went for ice cream at raffles city shopping centre. we had flower blossom, which consists of 6 small scoops in flavours of your choice, in waffle biscuit and it comes with chocolate sticks, mango and rasberry sauce which aint too sweet. yummy!!! so colourful! i like~

after the ice cream, we went to marina south.. to play arcade! i know it seems childish but nvm.. cos i like. my favourite games: bishi bashi champ, point blank, gun bullet and maybe daytona. keong introduced this game to me, which i thought was pretty fun and cute, a lil like bishi bashi champ concept. new game to play next time. shall find out the name of the game.

tomorrow, it 's back to work.. =(

have a great week!

a day in the south
friday evening, i went home to grab my stuff before keong and i made our way to eml's birthday party at cafe del mar. she booked a private area with a small swimming pool, just beside the toilet, behind the control counter. it wasn't as happening as i had expected. it must be the company. i hardly know her friends and colleagues. joseph (alaric's best friend), alaric and his gf, myself and keong were doing nothing more than drinking and snacking.

one point in time, eml started to psycho everyone to join her in the small pool. i didn't want to get myself unneccessarily wet and her besties were like splashing water at us. we decided to escape and and go for a stroll.

when we went back, eml was totally wasted. and she was so whiny (don't say i said that). 8 of us (eml's 3 besties, bf, alaric & gf, keong & i), had a story-telling session while taking turns to shower. around 4+am, they ordered room service. madness la. i'm not a supper person so i went to sleep after my shower while the rest of them continued watching movie over supper.

the next morning, we slacked around the room and at the extended corridor just outside the balcony. went for lunch at the restaurant downstairs. then, we headed to vivocity to catch fantastic 4. i thought the show was pretty good. before the show, i had a big issue with a guy from yahoo auction, whom i've ordered a psp. keong kinda settled it.

right after the movie, we took the train back to sentosa, to catch songs of the sea. it was so good la! i think its worth watching once. tickets are like 6 or 8 bucks. for our trip home, we had the comfort of sitting in a 8-seater maxi-cab. shiokedoo!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAREST CUZY~!!!

and also..

CONGRATS TO MY DEAREST for finally owning his long-awaited PSP! =D

after work on thursday, keong and i went for a movie - the ex at vivocity. the cinema where the show was screened was the smallest i've ever seen, 6 or 7 rows with 11 seats in each row. the theatre wasn't even full and the show was launch on that day. the show was pretty average, predictable story line.

right after we left the threatre, we headed straight for home to catch my 9pm show.

friday evening, i met up with the gang - grace, cp, mei and pei wen for mei's farewell. =( lyd and qin were supposed to come too.. but poor lyd down with food poisoning. she sounded very bad when i called her earlier. take good care babe!

we went for dinner at thai express. followed by a drink at paulander. i made it to paulander but didn't managed to have a drink, cos my stomach flu worked up on me. sorry mei~! sorry keong.. because of my stomach, you didn't get to even have a drink.

to mei: take lotsa care!! we'll miiiiissssssssssss yoooouuuuuuu so much! study hard! looking forward to seeing you soonest!! =D
