evenings with keong
have been busy planning for keong's independence day..

mon. we went to century square to get his birthday card. i remember keong mentioning that he has been longing for a birthday card cos he has never received one. supposed to be a surprise but i aint got time to buy alone. anyway, its the thought that count right? so all invitees and presentees, please remember to sign the card when you come. i'll bring all the markers, pens and highlighters i can find.

after getting his card, we went for dinner at this chinese restaurant. its not exactly a restaurant, the concept of the place is kinda similar to pastamania. he had duck rice although he hasnt totally recovered and i had dumpling soup. the sauce for the duck rice was pretty sucky.

he sent me home. the rest of the time was spent in front of my lappy. he happily post invitations online while i struggled to finish my dinner

tues. we went for dinner at sakae sushi. had unagi yanagawa and sukiyaki. spent like few hours at the place sorting out the plan for his chalet. thereafter, we went to watsons and NTUC to check out the toiletries they had. meanie keong tricked me into smelling some of the undescribable stinking shower gel and hand wash. thanks har!

he left right after sending me home.

lazy sunday
my aunt, cuzy and i had an appointment this morning. eml and i had to pull ourselves out of bed. got to amore at around 9.50am. it was 2 hours later that we emerge from the place.

we went to the coffee shop opposite the mall. had the intention to dine in but there are an unusual huge crowd. the queue for the chicken rice was sooo long and the place was smelly. we decided to buy lunch home.

we missed the shuttle bus and had to take a cab. had lunch at my aunt's place. i had so much. chicken rice with soup, muah chee and rojak. feel so sinful. i slacked around my aunt's place for awhile before going home to change.

i took a cab to keong's place. made porridge for dinner. we had like 6 dishes.

after dinner, we started on what we were supposed to do. pasted all our stuff in our book. spent a whole load of time on it. thats for lazy for like few months but at least, we got it arranged nicely. shall work on the decorations the next time round.

i had to take a cab home cos beckeon has been hospitalised since this afternoon and will be discharged only tomorrow noon. hasnt been too good since the start, giving lots of problems. just hope he'll be fine so we wouldnt have to spend so much.

grace's departure :(
keong and i went to the concourse to check out the party decos they had. we did a "research", there is one in centrepoint, one in holland v and concourse. we went to all the shops selling party decos at the upper-most level. after walking 2 rounds, we picked 2 packets of balloon, 1 blue 3D star, 1 gold and silver coil with stars, 1 bunch of blue strips with stars and a banner.

then we headed to town. we went to Taka to look for gigantic birthday cards, the kind i remember we used to have during our secondary school days. cards as huge at A3 size. but i guess thats not the trend anymore cos i couldnt find any. i only managed to find a kalm's card slightly smaller than A4 but the cards had a folded line at the edge. not too presenatable, i gave it a miss. shall check out century square sometime next week.

stomach's growling. time for lunch. keong decided that we'll have lunch at crystal jade. we got a queue number, 48. the digital number display at the top corner was only showing 37. i happened to walk to the directory board and i realised they have different outlets upstairs. so, we went to level 4. similarly, there was a queue. we told the lady we wanted a table for 2. right away, she led us in. hurray~! we had xiao long bao, guo tie and noodles. at the end of the meal, we were so full.

right after lunch, we headed to grace's place. lyd, qin, cp and javvy were all there already. we spent the time talking, chatting, teasing, laughing... anyway cp, i was just joking. dont take it to heart yea? we had noodles for dinner before leaving for the airport.

i always hate to be in situation like that. its so sad. thinking about it... okie! lets not talk about that. anyway, i'll most prob see her soon. =)

keong and i went to his place. mr weakling is sick for 2 days already. we bought ingredients from the supermarket. cooked porridge and 3 dishes. a short while after dinner, i took a cab home.

been trying to look for a pretty yummy cake which seems rather tough. the cakes are either yummy but not pretty or pretty but not yummy.

really appreciate that lyd, qin, bert and angela had given me bakeries that i could try. at least i have more choices. going to hunt for cake this evening. recommended by lyd's sis and qin. their cakes are really pretty and i heard its really nice. hope they do customisation though.

keong is having his exams in 1/2 hour. hope he'll be fine.

cake hunting / grace's farewell
WED. went hunting for cake after work. angela told me some time ago that emicakes wasnt too bad and not too ex so keong and i went to check it out. we enquired about their 21st birthday cake which cost 178.50. aint that cheap either. anyway, i think she got the smaller cake.

while considering if we should get the cake from emicakes or angie the choice, we went for dinn. thought over it and we decided to check out angie the choice again. upon reaching home, i showed him angie the choice's website and he preferred their design. we were kinda set on ordering from them.

THU. as planned, we went to their new branch at bedok. the cake costs 173.25 for standard fillings, 200.55 for special fillings. the price seems comparable to emicakes. BUT the size is a big difference. emicake's 35cm by 42cm costs 178.50 (serves 60 - 80). angie the choice's 25cm by 30cm costs 173.25 (serves 20-40). now, we are back to square one!

we went for dinner at BK while we thought it over. we made a comparison and decided that we shall still go with angie the choice. went back to the shop and the lady said we had to make full
payment. in any case if we want to change to special fillings, we would have to make another trip down to pay the balance. there was no way they could allow me to make the balance payment when they deliver. i was frustrated cos i couldnt understand why is that so. i supposed they are protecting themselves and they are not that customer-oriented.

anyway, i had to buy a few slices of cake for the girls as requested by lyd. we bought chocolate lover, black forest, strawberry and cheese. with that, we went to meet lyd and the rest.

keong followed lyd's car. we went to cosy bay. the guys went to get drinks while lyd brought us to an area to chill. did lotsa nonsensical stuff (stuff that i would never do, just for you grace.), played with whistling fire sparklers and had a good laugh. we left the place at 10+.

felt bad that i made keong come along with us. i guessed he was really tired cos his eyes were red. thanks for your effort and company~! not forgetting lyd, qin and grace. love you all~!

sentosa with grace, qin and keong
keong and i had breakfast at macs before heading to harbourfront. we got there around 12.10pm. bought watermelon juice and apple juice while waiting for grace and qin.

qin came slightly after grace. we boarded the sentosa bus and off we go.

we went to palawan beach. played volleyball, soccer, monkey, passing.. took plenty of jumpshot pictures.

at around 4, we went to shower. took the tram to the interchange and transferred to the bus to imbiah lookout. bought tickets for the luge and chairlift. it was fun but the chairlift was kinda scary. okie.. im afraid of heights.

after a long day of fun, it was time to go home. we went our seperate ways.

keong and i went to the interchange near his place, bought food for cooking. we made sausage spagetthi. left his place after the lawyer show.

had a wonderful day. havent had so much fun in a long long time. thanks babes~!!!

MCYS family day 2006
my cuzy woke me up twice cos my alarm was disturbing her sleep. i got up at 6.36am when i was set my alarm at 5.45am and 6am. i woke keong up. waited for him to change before i showered.

my bro and aunt came by at 7.05am. i quickly put on my eau de toilette and left the home. we took a cab to tampines interchange. got there at 7.20am. bought sandwiches and ice mountain from cheers.

had our breakfast while waiting for the MCYS' official que. we boarded the bus at around 8am. arrived at the zoo at 8.30am. we followed the official to pavilion by the lake. collected our survival kit and game pack. proceeded to the seating area. there was a talk by glenn lim, an ex drug abuser. he shared his life story which i thought was meaningful to share..

since young, he had thoughts of suicides cos he thought his parents didnt love him. he smashed things and he couldnt control his emotions. he was mad that he couldnt control his anger and because he couldnt understand why was he an angry young man. as he grew up, he mixed around with bad company and did everything they did. all because he wanted to feel belonged. he was introduced to cigarettes, alcohol and drugs. he was talented in music, he and gang joined competitions and they won. they even had a manager and they performed overseas. he thought that was his life!

overseas, the drugs were more accessible. he began taking drugs every single day to overcome the loneliness in him. soon, he started bringing in drugs. cos they were so cheap overseas, he could earn a profit when he sells in singapore.

one day in the year 1994 when he was crossing the customs, he was walking when he saw 2 policemen standing ahead. they stopped him and told him to follow them for a full body search. thats when he realised he was set up. they found all the drugs on him and he was locked up. he was charged for possession and importing of drugs. the sentence for importing of drugs was life imprisonment.

in the lock up, he remembered clearly that there were 2 policemen weighing his drugs in front of him and discussing whether he will be sentenced life imprisonment. he was allowed to make one call. despite disowning his family, he called home. his dad picked up the phone, he told them what happened and his parents broke down. they bailed him out.

while waiting to be sentenced in court, he decided that he wants to get his life right before he goes in. he called team challenge and joined them. after 4 months, he was in court. the judge told him "I have never done this before and this has never happened in history, im going to drop the charge 'importings of drugs' and reduced it just to 'possession of drugs'. he was so relieved, from 30 years to 6 months, it was like a holiday.

he went into the police van with all the other prisoners and he was the only one smiling. after completing the sentence, he joined team challenge and he stayed on for 3 1/2 years. he treasure the second chance given to him, he belives that he is living on borrowed time cos he is not supposed to be there at that point of time. his life has since taken a turn, it was so much more meaningful and better. he stayed firm and didnt went back his ways although his bad company encouraged him to.

hes now married with kids. he is thankful to his family for being there for him, being so supportive, helping him through.

after the talk, it was time for the family version of amazing race. 30 teams were disseminated every 5 minutes or so. we were the 4th group. we started our first game which was newspaper chase, we all had to step on a newspaper for 5 seconds, the newspaper will be folded 1 time after each round of 5 seconds until it couldnt be folded any smaller. we scored full for that.

then we went on to our second station, tropical crops. the name of the game was photo hunt. we had to write down the names of plants. we managed to find all of them in less than 5 minutes. 3rd station, puzzle at the polar bears. we had to wait cos there was a queue. we waited like half an hour before its was our turn. we managed to complete the puzzle but the official gave us only 4 points. sad!

we hurried to the next station, we had to pick out sweets from a tray full of flour. keong and ronald was responsible of that while my aunt and i held on to the tray and shook the flour onto the ground. 5 points for 3 minutes and we completed in 27 seconds.

5th station, 4 legged. keong, ronald and i tied our legs together. we strategized and were the first of the 3 groups. 5 points again. 6th station, sum it up. maths questions. scored 5 points. 7th stationed, the official says 4 person, 4 feets on the ground; 4 feets and 4 hands; 3 feets and 2 hands; no hands and feets. scored 5 points. it was already 11.50am. we had to stop the game but ronald didnt want to give up. we went up a slope where he saw people walking down from. 8th station was spider web. 5 points.

the 9th stage was the hula hoop and the last was family potrait. all 5 points. our total score was 49. 1 point away from the total. happily, we were for briefing and had our lunch. we had ice cream, cotton candy, KFC chicken and whipped potato.

after lunch, prize giving ceremony. ronald asked one of the 10 - 20th winner how much was his total, the guy said 45. we were so hopeful but we received only disappointment. ronald was pretty upset. he went to complain to his CSO. his CSO said he will check with the officials.

we walked to the main entrance, ronald left with the 1.30pm bus cos he needed to work. aunt, keong and i bought the tram tickets and we sat one round. video camed the animals. we went to shop near the entrance then to bens & jerry. we waited for the around half an hour for the bus.

i was so exhausted, i fell asleep. arrived at tampines interchange minutes after 3pm. went to coffee bean for berry tea. on the way, keong's mum called and he was reprimanded. instead of drinking at coffee bean, we take-away. we went to wait for the shuttle bus. he was so upset, he showed his emotions.

we boarded the shuttle bus and he just sat alone at the front seats while i sat alone at the back seats. i was frustrated, i decided to not be the bad person. i sent him off at the carpark. i was so upset with the way he was treating me. after i sent him off, i went to a place to cool down, to be alone and think things through.

after i got home, i showered. waited to be called to leave home. my aunt came and we took a cab together with eml and her bf. got to joo chiat at 6+. waited for everybody to arrive before dinner started. i was about to finish my food when keong called. i waited for him along the road. saw him and i crossed over to the car park. while crossing, this silver merz horned me and i got a shock. damn lady driver! i was standing at the cross line, she could bloody drive past me but she had to horn me cos her skills were lousy. idiotic freak~!

after dinner, keong rode me to simei to get newspaper and cake. we went to mirana but they didnt had fruit cake, went to prima deli but to no avail. then, we went to jacks place and finally, we bought fruit flan. headed home. had the cake ceremony before i sent keong off at the car park.

good luck for your interview future mr policeman~! im sure you will pass the interview. i have faith in you.

grace's bday party
i woke up at 10am after my alarm went off. i showered, dressed up and prepared to go out. keong came to pick me up at 11+. we headed to the interchange cos i needed to go to the bank. queued for like more than half an hour before it was my turn.

lunch was sarpino's pizza cos its just 2 shops away from the bank. there were only a family of 4 when we entered the restaurant. we were expecting the food to be served shortly cos we kinda out of time. but the food took another half an hour to be served.

while waiting for food to be served

botak keong in purple

this breadstick is really good

after lunch, we headed to town. parked the bike at tangs. we went to search for DKNY's delicious cos we both agreed that grace would it. we finally bought the eau de toilette. next was the wrapping. we went to wisma and couldnt find a shop that sells wrapper. suddenly, keong remembered that theres a popular at orchard mrt. we hastened our steps and went to popular. bought a wrapper, tape dispenser and blade. we sat at the staircase outside the popular to wrap the gift. it wasnt easy.

halfway through, we heard raindrops. we quickly wrapped up the gift as nicely as we could given the situation. it was really the best of the worst. we went to the car park to get his bike. got caught up in a situation and it was another half an hour wasted.

it was raining the whole time, the rain just got heavier. we were all drenched and frustated. couldnt find our way, we stopped at a caltex petrol station. i called grace and told her we couldnt find our way, i let my frustation took over me and i said something i didnt mean it. after a discussion with keong, i took a cab with him riding behind.

we arrived at 5+. there werent much to help cos grace, lyd, qin, javvy, choon peng and herbert had already done up most of the decorations. i spent the next hour in grace's granny's room to iron my clothes as well as keong's.

the party was a blast. there were so many people. i think we should give the title "miss congenality" to her. everyone had fun eating, drinking, chatting, joking... the best time for catching with one another.

the party ended at 10+. we got changed and headed to zouk. havent been there after they revamped. its the first time im going clubbing with grace as well as keong. the music was boring. expected phuture to play R & B but i must say the company was great! keong and i had to leave at 1+ cos we had to get up the next day at 6am.

got home at around 2am, showered and slept.

before i end this entry.. thanks grace for everything~! im sorry i was late and i made a fuss. sorry for having to leave early at zouk. im glad you like the pressie. love you babe!

friday evening
as usual, i met keong after work. we went back to my mum's place to collect some mails. then, we headed to the nearest 'angie the choice' branch which was at tiong bahru.

the moment we stepped into the mall, we saw the shop. the girl wasnt too friendly. bad customer service. *tsk tsk* i asked about the flavours of the cake and she went like "the flavours are here." keong was rather upset by her attitude. i went on to ask about the price, she checked and told us its $172.25. poor product knowledge. the best part was keong said "wah! so cheap ar." but at least i was nice enough to say thank you when i left the shop.

we walked around the mall, had dinner at thai express. we were supposed to have a light meal but we ended up walking out of the restaurant bloated. after dinner, keong sent me home.

terrible friday
yesterday was a bad day for me.

i went to bed at 10.50pm, tried to look at the brighter side. i smiled cos its friday the next day. i love fridays! i gave thanks to God and i forgave everything that has happened. with that, i tried to sleep.

but not knowing why, i spent the next hour tossing and turning in bed, i was constantly thinking of something. thinking about the happy events in the near future. realising that its late, i free my mind of thoughts and i fell asleep soon after.

i woke up with a smile. showered and prepared for work. just then, my day had to be ruin. someone bastard me. i was so pissed, i almost let my anger take over me. i didnt allow myself to think about it cos each time when i do, tears well up my eyes.

i ignored the constant vibration from my phone and made my way to the main road. got so irritated, i switched off my handphone. i waited for a cab for what seems like eternity.

im in the office now, with a terrible mood. my day is ruined~! hate this feeling..

office talk
had a great chat with my colleagues since morning. we talked about health, medical, religions..

one of my colleagues were just telling us about the benefits of chinese medical. she told us a few stories about her friends that sounds convincing. she also highlighted to us that cold water isnt good for the body, especially women. our normal body temperature is 37 degrees and it will feel most comfortable if the water is about that temperature. if cold water is consumed for a long period, somehow the organs will shrink. (how true is that?)

she mentioned that as much as possible, avoid operations. cos when the stitching is not done carefully, some veins not be connected back properly. hence, the body fluid cannot flow and problems arise. the alternative to operations is chinese medical. the doctor will find the root of your problem and solve it.

through lunch, we started to change the topic towards religion. they talked a lil about taoism, buddhism and christianity. learnt a lil about the teachings and the difference. cathy mentioned about the addition of 6 in front of all our home's phone numbers. i thought thats freaky. 6 symbolises the demon. she said the demon wouldnt make it so obvious that you would recognise it. it would happen so naturally and only the spiritual christians will sense it.

after this long talk, i decided that i should start leading a healthy lifestyle. (thats if im discipline enough) should stop being lazy!

a great valentine's day
i left the office at 1pm cos i was entitled to a half day off.

i met keong at the lobby. we went to tampines mall. had lunch at pizza hut cos he wanted to have pizza. i had a spagetthi set meal and he had pizza set meal. the spagetthi sucks! it tasted like insecticide somehow.

after lunch, we went to do our own shopping for an hour cos i have yet to get his valentine's day pressie. i went to tampines 505 to enquire about 6670's price. i crossed the road and walked past the shop. i just couldnt bring myself to walk over to the shop and ask the salesperson all alone. i feel the jitters.

so, i called grace and talk to her for awhile. then, i took a deep breathe and picked up my courage to walk to the first shop. they quoted me 380 for 2nd hand. after explaining to him that i chose his shop because that was the place my bro and i bought our handphones, he gave me a $10 discount that doesnt really help.

feeling a lil less jittery, i went to the 2nd shop and they didnt have any 6670. i walked ahead to the 3rd shop and they quoted 330 for 2nd hand. feeling happy, i asked if it is local set and the lady said yes. i asked to test the phone but i didnt know how to check if the phone is local or export. i told the lady that i'll think about it. i called my only god-brother, alvin. he told me a few things to check for.

i went back to the shop and checked the phone. i realised the phone didnt have any of the things that alvin told me to check for. i figured out that it wasnt local set so i gave it a miss. i bet the lady thought i was weird because i took out a 6670 from my pocket. besides that, i must have behaved abnormally cos i was alone and nervous.

feeling disappointed, i crossed over to the other side of the shops. decided to try my luck at the last shop which is operated by a couple. been there to do survey so i knew they were really nice people. i wasnt very hopeful as the signboard outside the shop stated that their sole-distributor is singtel. i went in and enquired about the phone. the guy quoted 350. i asked to take a look at the phone. at the same time, i checked to make sure that it had the few things that alvin told me to check for. wanted to be cautious, i asked a few more questions. satisfied with it, i bought the phone.

happily, i walked back to tampines mall. tried calling keong but i couldnt get through. finally, i saw him coming up the escalator behind me. gave him his pressie and we found a place where he could change the sim.

then, we went to check out the movies available. he decided on "fun with dick and jane". while waiting for the show, we went to starbucks. he bought me the very first drink that he got for me. at 5pm, i suggested that we go check out cakes. went to all the cake shops in the 2 malls.

just before we went to the cinema, we bought small packets of chips from the supermarket. went to the cinema, bought popcorn and drink. the show wasnt that bad.

after the show, we bought vegetables and chicken. took a long ride back to his place. dinn was chicken stew and a plate of vegetables with porridge-rice. :X i took some time to read the magazine i bought. then, he sent me down to take a cab home.

its been a great day. although its just watching movie, hanging around, walking around but i seldom have the chance to do so. not a day full of surprises but a simple and heartwarming day. thank you for your pressie, i love it~!!!

just for laughs
i just received an email with a couple of jokes about women and men.

heres one..

The Silent Treatment

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment.

Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he knew she would find it.

The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why. The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."

Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

God may have created man before woman, but there is always a rough draft before the masterpiece.

my first time to chijmes
just came back from an amazing lunch at lei garden restaurant with my big boss, manager and colleagues. but i was more stressful than i was enjoying the food. i went for the lunch with no idea who were we having lunch with, the reason and the place.

so, i was dumbfounded. my answers were not encouraging at all. lucky thing, terry was seated next to me and it made me feel slightly better. but i wished i wasnt there at all.

the food were served one after another. there were like 7 courses if im not wrong plus 2 desserts. it was just so amazing. i was so full at the end.

the lunch took like 3 hours. i just came back still feeling so full. i think i'll give dinner a miss. 2 and 1/2 hours more to leave the office. i better get working.

last day of chinese new year
today is the last day of chinese new year. which means i would have to go home for dinner. have been spending so much time at home. i hardly got time for keong and my friends for the past few weeks.

keong came to pick me up at noon. we went to tampines for lunch. had long john which i later regretted. we walked around century square, checked out the cakes that were available for 21st birthday. didnt find anything that was nice.

he sent me to taka and brought me to the library. after my work started, he went to far east to get his hair cut. the event was not too good cos the press had the wrong timing. but everything did go as plan. keong came to pick me up at 4+.

we went to far east for tom yam soup and yummy veggies. shopped around and i got him a belt cos his old one was rusty.

at around 6.30, we headed home for dinner. due to insufficient space, the adults had dinner indoor and the younger ones had dinner under the stars. seated at the table outdoor was alaric and his girlfriend, keong and i, eml and her look-down-on-people boyfriend, my 2 yound cuzies - marcus, mervin, eml's friend - abrial, eml's and alaric's cuzy - ying sheng and his friend.

after dinner, keong went to pick ronald up. he accompanied me for awhile before he went home.

keong came by my place to pick me up.

lunch was at east point cos i was craving for nabeyaki udon. he had chicken chop.

after lunch, we headed to orchard. met grace and choon peng at taka's phuture london. the guys went to coffee bean while we shopped. later, we joined them at coffee bean. shiqin came and keong and i had to leave after awhile.

the initial plan was for him to send me to downtown but he was running late. so, he accompanied me to get a box to wrap lin's pressie. then, we went our seperate ways. i picked up rachel at downtown's entrance and we headed to coasta sands.

when rachel and i got there, there were already a number of people - her family and friends. we hung around till the cake ceremony. meanwhile, we had a good chat with suvin and shi ya. glad that everyone is doing fine.

keong came to fetch rachel and i to downtown cos we didnt know the way. angela and jeff was waiting by keong's bike. it was really really sweet of them to accompany keong while he waited for me. they were there from like 9.20pm to 10.15pm. thank you babe~!!! i really appreciate it.
