eve of new year eve. again, i woke up as usual. packed my stuff. made a trip to the office before meeting keong. we had vegetarian lunch at home before heading to corpthorne king hotel. the purpose of the gathering was to celebrate new year day and also pris' farewell.
grace, lyd, shi qin, nick and herbert was there when keong and i arrived. grace, lyd, shi qin and i took several pictures outside the room along the corridor. but gotta wait for them to upload. later, keong and i went to join lyd. we waited for denise to come and helped carry the stuff.
in the evening, herbert, lyd, keong and i cabbed to tiong bahru plaza to get dinner. met grace and choon peng there. when we were back, jon was already there. then pris, danielle, josh and peiwen came. everyone were playing taboo while keong and i chatted at the balcony.
by late evening, left in the room were herbert, lyd, grace, choon peng, peiwen, keong and i. had nothing to do, we started applying masks. everyone then take turns to shower. most of them were watching tv when i was already asleep.

new year eve. next morning, i woke up at 8+ if im not wrong. keong and i then sat at the balcony. choon peng came back not long later with breakfast, coffee and tea. herbert also brought lotsa food to the room. after lyd, pei wen and lastly grace woke up, we went to get some tan by the pool.
at 11+, one by one, we went to shower and packed our stuff. thereafter we went our seperate ways. keong and i cabbed to his place. we spent the rest of the afternoon playing harvest moon and taking a nap. got up at 6, prepared and headed to meet reys.
keong and i arrived at MOS at around 8pm. through the journey, we took a lil time to send advance new year greetings. i received a mean reply from someone petty. the msg says "Fcuk off!" haiz. its so sad cos this period is suppose to be a time where you forgive all that has done wrong to you. moreover i havent done anything wrong to that person to deserve this. but i wouldnt let the person spoil my mood. i believe that i have done my part. moreover, its a joyful season. =D
when we got there, the queue was already so so so freaking long, we had to queue across the road, somewhere near the overhead bridge. that was how exagerrating it is. we queued and queued, keong was getting frustrated with the rowdy people. reys, haze and andy only came like an hour later. looking at the queue, reys actually wanted to go to momo instead. tried asking vivienne but she hadnt got there. we were still deciding what to do when 2 gals approached us. they said they had placed their IC in the car and asked if we could help. reys and haze followed them to see whats going on before they decided to help them. so, from the back of the queue, we advanced to the front. the queue was totally disorganized, people cutting queue everywhere. everyone was perspiring and it was so warm. we were really like sardines packed in a tin. imagine the air you breathe in is actually warm. keong's sis and cuzy came not long later.
MOS finally opened the door at 9.30pm, but the queue was still as long and they let in only few people at a time. so from 9.30pm, we waited and waited. 11.15pm, we were still queueing but already somewhere near the door. reys analysed that we might get in by 11.45pm. half an hour passed, guess the outcome?

keong and i decided not to waste 60 bucks and anyway, we had to get supper for his parents. we left the queue and walked around to see if we could get supper anywhere.
suddenly, we see sparks from behind the overhead bridge and it sounds like... ... fireworks!!! we walked ahead and took some pictures. it was so nice. keong was shooting a video when a bus had to pass by and blocked the finale of the fireworks which was the most magnificent. :( but to think on the bright side, we wouldnt have seen it if we were still queueing.
we got home at around 1+. after a shower, i sat in front of the television and played harvest moon again. haha. we are so addicted to this game. got sleepy at 4+ and fell asleep.

new year day. we walked to the interchange and bought lunch for everyone. spent half the day playing harvest moon. in the evening, keong accompanied me to buy dinner for my aunt and sent me home.
2nd day of the new year. wanted to blog when i was asked to take a bathe. after i prepared, aunts, eml, alaric and i cabbed to cityhall. we went to robinsons cos my aunt needed to buy one more set of comforter. since we are at raffles city shopping centre, i wouldnt missed hagen daz ice cream. i got a strawberry ice cream, eml got a lemon sorbet and alaric got tiramisu and belgian chocolate.
we took the train and alaric alighted at somerset while the rest of us at orchard. i accompanied eml to charles and keith while my aunts went to get chicken for dinner. thereafter we went to iora cos our princess eml need to get suit. was so bored cos the clothes aint my type and the place was so packed. i was even knocked by a lady in the shoulder. she only apologised after i said "ouch!"
aunt cat accompanied me to charles and keith while eml was still trying her suit. i wanted to buy a pair of white and black heels but they didnt had my size. but i ended up buying this white heels with a green butterfly. thought the butterfly was really nice. it comes in 3 colours - purple, black and white. after consultation from eml, i decided to get the white one. though aunt jen said its too extravagent.
was running out of time, eml and i went to queue for cab. we took the cab to IKEA. walked round looking for my bro's bed. tried to ask for assistance but the staff there aint of any help. she told us to go to the showroom. when we got there, we couldnt find what we asked for. we had to walked all the way back. made measurements and some calculations before aunt cat decided to get that bed frame. next, the bed mattress. we went to the bed mattress section and tested the mattress. finally, we decided on the original bed mattress. we walked on while watching out for tables and cabinets that can fit my bro's room. came across this corner workstation. again, made some measurements and calculations and decided to get it. aunts also saw this cabinet that they thought could blend into his room.
with all that, we went to make payment. a total of 3 bulky items plus 3 fabric foldable storage boxes. there was so many people and most were irritated. after payment, we had to queue again for home delivery. to make things worse, delivery charge is 40 bucks and assembly charge is 5% of the item. aunt cat was saying that she doesnt understand why so many people shop at IKEA when the things aint cheap after you add all the additional charges. she was thirsty so she asked eml and i to go to the cafe on level 2 to collect the free drinks. eml and i had to walk through the crowd to the cafe. when we got there, the cashier said that there is no take-away. she gave us 2 glasses and i grabbed 2 plastic cups from the side. we filled the 2 plastic cups with ice tea and headed to the exit. it wasnt easy holding on a plastic cup trying to find our way through the crowd. so much for just a drink. we were so freaking frustrated. got to the taxi-stand where my aunts were waiting.
we took a cab home, had dinner and i watched tv till 9pm. headed to william's place for a haircut. alaric and i only got home at 10+. took a bathe and waited for my hair to dry up before going to sleep.
