Starhub Roadshow

Friday. i met keong and jas in town. dinn was at wisma foodcourt again. after dinn. keong had to go off for packing. jas and i went to meet grace. went shopping around until minutes to 6. then jas and i rushed to ngee ann city. chin and ashley gave a short briefing of what the roadshow is about. i was posted to hub music which is under mobile. jas is posted to the narnia booth. and angela is posted to distribute balloons and flyers. jas and i had to stay on for another briefing by the starhub people. they came not long later.

as soon as the briefing ended. i had to change the size of my "uniform". went to the U2 at basement but there wasnt sizes. but the nice salespeople manage to check other outlets. finally. he found my size at orchard point. keong accompanied me to change my top. as soon as i was done. i went to meet grace and choon peng at scotts. we had a drink and chatted till around 10.30pm. then grace and i took the train home together. grace was so kind to walk me home. =) had a really good talk.

Saturday. woke up at 7. showered and prepared for work. was late so i took a cab to fetch angela. keong waited for us at the taxi stand. we were 1/2 hour late. sorry darl! got scolding from ashley.

my booth was simply boring. tried to be enthusiastic. smiling at all times. ashley was nice. she wasnt as fierce as i thought she would be. michelle's company also made time passed faster. lunch was with jasmine and angela at yoshinoya. didnt wanted to go to the food court cos we know it would be packed. found a tiny table at the corner. i went to get the food while angela waited at the table. jas came to help me with the trays. the table was so small. its more for 2 person than for 3. i spotted a staff cleaning a bigger table so i asked if they wanted to change seats. angela and i went over and approach the staff.

(not exactly the words but the meaning is there)

angela said "can we change seats cos that table is very small?"
she said "this seat is for 4 person or more."
i said "but that table over there has only 3 person"
she said "aiya! i dunno la! you go and ask the person in specs in front. shes the one in charge."
angela said "you dont have to show me attitude right?"
she said "im not showing attitude. im just stating the fact"

angela went over to the lady who is the supervisor. before she could talk. the staff ran over and said "nothing nothing!" she added on "why not i give you the seat over that side?"

angela was nice enough to agree and not complain further about the staff's fark up attitude. apparently. it seems to me that the staff is unhappy about the crowd in the restaurant. she aint happy that business is good. she is irritated but that aint our problem. we didnt let her spoil our mood. i even took a picture of her side view. will upload the pictures soon.

oh! before i forget. grace. lyd and qin came to look for me. so sweet! hehe. couldnt talk for long cos ashley was constantly walking around.

legs were all aching at the end of the day. everyone was practically counting down the minutes to 9. we were dismissed after a short de-brief by ashley.

lunch at yoshinoya

Sunday. woke up at 7 again. met angela at simei mrt. we were supposed to meet at 8.45am but ended up meeting at 9.15am. by the time we got to orchard. it was around 9.40am. we rushed to the food court and had traditional breakfast. toast bread, coffee and eggs. angela had ice milo though. thereafter we rushed to ngee ann city. 5 minutes late. keong was reprimanded a lil by ashley.

before the roadshow started. michelle and i went to the ladies. i guided her how to put on mascara. not a very good teacher though. but i must say shes already doing good considering its her first time. poor michelle! kenna force to put mascara. when we went back to the tentage. the entrance for staff was blocked by a rather big crowd. i heard a lil child was pushed over and injured. poor child!

lunch was with jas, angela, michelle and another guy. we went to the food court to pack lunch. angela and i shared a set of Tori Q with 3 additional sticks. i messaged keong if he and andrew wanted lunch. i only got his reply when we were about to leave the food court. so angela and i had to go in to queue and buy their share. was a lil fedup. this is what happen.

Sets

Set A: 1 pork, 2 chicken, 1 chicken ball ($4.50)
Set B: 2 chicken, 1 chicken ball, 1 chicken with green pepper ($4.70)

Ala carte

if you buy 4 sticks, you can get rice at $0.50. if not, the rice is $1.50.
if you buy 10 sticks, you can get a free bottle of sauce. (NA for sets)

knowing that they wouldnt eat their lunch so early cos they are always busy. i decided to get 10 sticks. so what do you think i can get?

they gave me my 10 sticks and 2 boxes of rice. but i didnt get the sauce. when i enquire.

cashier said "we already gave you discount for the rice, if not the rice is $1.50. because if you buy 4 sticks, the rice is 50 cents"

i said "its misleading. forget it. just give me a bottle of sauce"

dont you think its misleading? they didnt state that if you buy 4 sticks and get the rice at a discounted price. you are not applicable for whatever whatever... its so so so i dunno what to say.

anyway our place for lunch was rather special. in the middle of taka staircase which our either sides are escalators going in opposite directions. took a couple of pictures with my handphone too. shall upload soon.

dinn was some snacks from old chang kee. just like the day before. watched the karaoke competition at the main stage.

my legs were really breaking at the end. helped out in a lil packing up. ashley gave a debrief and off we go to get our pay and goodie bag! took a train home with angela and keong.

thanks keong for sending me home on both days although i know you are more tired than me considering that you have to run around constantly.
