my weekend
12 May, Friday. i spent my day rolling in bed watching television. took a shower at 4+, dressed up and prepared to accompany my granny to some long distance relative’s wedding.
we got to the hotel at 7+, went up the escalators to the ballrooms and nearly got the wrong ballroom. the dinner only started at like 8.40pm. if compared to fullerton where I once worked in their banquet for a couple of weeks, the hotel is far from fullerton’s standard.
we left the hotel at about 10.30pm, took a cab home.
and that was my friday! how boring..
13 May. Saturday. keong and i went to simei for lunch and also to get the ingredients and fruits that we were missing for the cake baking. then, we went to my old place. we started baking at like 4+. the first sponge cake we baked didn’t succeed. the second cake (banana cake) was quite okie. keong thought it was nice. the third cake we baked was okie but due to the shape of the baking tin and the fact that the mixture was too lil, there was a hole in the centre. keong decided to make do with it so we started decorating. the last cake which is supposing to be my cake was a total failure.
by the time we left my place, it was 9.30pm. it wasn’t easy holding on to the cake all the way from my place to his place. we had korean noodles for dinner. i left his place before they cut the cake so i didn’t manage to taste it.
14 May, Sunday. Happy Mothers’ Day to all the mummies~!
i met keong at simei. managed to catch the shuttle bus cos the driver was late by 1 min. my aunt was just telling me when i rushed out of the house that i wont be in time. keong and i went to get a butter cake (just in case my cake doesn’t succeed), eggs and cream for the last attempt.
we went to my old place. we had only 2 hours cos we are having dinner at 5pm. he had his lunch while I got started. it was almost 4pm when we placed the baking tin into the oven, keong and i thought it would be better if i start decorating the butter cake.
sadly, the cake wasn’t successful. it must have been the microwave oven; eml told me there’s something wrong with the microwave oven. but i thought i could try one last time. i was busy decorating the cake while keong cleaned up the entire kitchen and utensils. managed to complete the decoration of the cake at around 5.15pm.
keong sent me to my mum’s place before he went to park his bike at my place. we had dinn at joo heng.
after we got home from dinner and had the cake, keong accompanied me to tampines to get flowers for my mum. then, we went to pass the cake and flowers to my mum. before he sent me home, we made a trip to my old place to get all the baking stuff for eml.keong: thanks so much for everything~!
