how unlucky can you get?
a super duper long entry..i woke reluctantly, prepared for the 2 interviews that i was having later in the day. just when i was about to leave my house to catch the shuttle bus, i realised the tissue box on which i wrote the interview location was missing. i remembered seeing it on the coffee table in the living room the night before. i tried searching for it in all the rooms but to no avail. i called my aunt and she said she threw it away cos someone placed it in the kitchen. great~! i didnt have the address and number of the person. i didnt have time to think cos the bus was leaving. i quickly walked to the bus bay and took the bus to the interchange.after i arrived at the interchange, i went to withdraw the last couple of dollars left in my bank account. while i walked to the mrt station, i stretched my arm so my sleeve will roll a lil backwards and i'll be able to see the time. to my shock, i saw a gigantic housefly, green in colour on my hand. i tried to swing the housefly off my hand and through the process, a singh who was walking somewhere near me got a shock. then, i continued my way and a big drop of water hit directly on my head. what a day i thought!i alighted at cityhall and took a cab to fuji xerox tower. (i only remembered the main building) i got there at like 10.45am. 15 mins earlier..- i tried to locate the information counter. asked the securities about a company PACS but they werent sure and couldnt help at all cos the office was too big.- i tried to call the numbers which the interviewer had called earlier with. the lines were either engaged or no response. - grace tried to check the internet for the companies under the tower but wasnt successful.- i called 100 and asked them for the company of the telephone number. she wasnt able to check cos the number was under singtel. - i called up reys and got her to call 100 from her house number. her reply was the number is not listed. there goes all the lil clues. the last resort! to search every level. so i went back to the counter and asked if i could go up and search myself. the security guard was quite reluctant at first. she told me to go to the main office at 5th level. the moment i got up, there was this label which states the units and names of company. right on top, it states Prudential Assurance Company Singapore. i see the picture now. PACS = Prudential Assurance Company Singaporealthough i was disappointed, i still tried to look for the unit. i thought at least i should let the interviewer know that im not interested (if its a financial position but i remembered the lady saying its sales and marketing). after going in to one of the unit, the boss told me its really tough if i dont have the number or unit. with that, i gave up. and thats after an hour of trying to find the unit and waiting for the interviewer's call at the same time.i walked to the mrt station and took the train to eunos. on my way, the interviewer finally called. i asked if it was a financial consultant position cos i wasnt really interested if it is. she said she would asked the boss before she gets back to me. i took a cab from eunos to the interview location (as recommended by the lady who called). the malay cab driver asked if i knew the way and i told him no. he drove up a road and came to an end, he took out his street directory and started looking at it. after a few more wrong turns, u-turns and reading the street directory, he finally got the right place. the cab fare was $6.70 when i got there (10 mins late for my 2nd interview). i paid him $5.50.uncle: its $6.70.me: but you went the wrong wayuncle: (fierce) very difficult to find leh! you also dont know the way.me: (thinking: thats why i took a cab) but you're a taxi-driveruncle: (flared up) ah..!!! get out..! get out! ff..f...after i got down, i took note of his plate number. so fierce la. bully me.. just cos im a girl. i mean its reasonable. i took a cab cos i didnt know the way and im supposed to pay more because he didnt know the way. why should i pay for his mistakes? and his attitude was so bad. i thought $5.50 was more than enough cos i think it doesnt even cost $5.anyway, i went for the interview which turned out okie. not too good, not too bad. i was so afraid the malay cab driver might come back. i was lucky there was a vacant cab at the ulu ulu place. i went to eunos mrt and like i guessed, it was less than $5. i took the train home.after dinn, lyd, qin, grace and choon peng came to pick me up for dinn, round 2 at 85. we met pei wen there as well. following, we went to kallang macs to meet up with lyd's sis and bf. it was almost 12 when i got home.it was really nice meeting up with all of them, esp after a bad day. thank you lyd for the picking me up and sending me home. thank you bestie~!!! with love..
