the day i've waited for 8 months
i have spent my past 2 days practising and preparing myself for the final test - TP. i went for a circuit revision on tuesday. finally, i managed to overcome my fear after countless attempts at the fig 8.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------on wednesday, i went for the first session of road revision at 8.30am to familiarise myself with the traffic condition between 9am to 10am. after the road revision, i went for my last circuit revision. all was good. i was quite prepared.feeling satisfied, i walked out to take a bus home. the walk to the bus stop doesnt seem that far as compared to the last time. i got home, showered. packed my wardrobe, refold almost all the clothes and rearranged them. before sleeping, i took a notebook and went through the things that i have to remember for the road and circuit test.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------the day has finally arrived. i woke up at 6am, showered and packed my stuff. it was 6.45am when i left home. i had to run out to the main road to get a cab. i got onto the cab at 6.55am. got there 5 mins late. i saw alot of people seated at the reporting area.at 7.15am, we were asked to go to the briefing area. we checked and got our number tags. then, we went for one round of circuit warm up. following, we queued in our rows to submit our PDL and identification document. before the testers came, we were given a detailed briefing. i was the 1st out of the 2 batches. i wasnt feeling as nervous as i was when i was going for my lesson 8. the prayers must have helped.the tester waved, i checked right and left before turning, then i signalled and checked my blind spot before lane changing. the first course: slope 1st mistake made - i forgot to change the signal to the left before turning.the second course: fig 8fine but prob a lil slow.the third course: crank course2nd mistake made - i turned off the directional signal, thus the time taken to change up to gear 2 was delayedwhile travelling to my next course, i was reprimanding myself for making an unnecessary move to turn off the directional signal.the forth course: plankwas good. i stayed on the plank for more than 6 secs.the fifth course: slalomwasnt very smooththe last course: emergency brake3rd mistake made: i accidentally kicked from 2nd gear to 1st gear when i was supposed to change up to 3rd gear. when i passed the white line, the light that was supposed to light up didnt light up. my speedometer shows exactly 30km/h.then, it was out on the road. i was a lil late to check my first blind spot. otherwise, all was good. i returned the bike. the first thing i was told was my performance wasnt as good. =(may and i went to the coffeeshop just outside the school. then, we went to a classroom on the third level to wait for our results. the numbers that were called were people who failed. everyone was hoping and praying that their numbers wont be called.after the last number was called, the tester came in. he announced that the passing rate for this round of TP was very high, 77.5%. 69 out of 89 passed. hurray! then, he went on to give a speech. after watching 2 videos, heard 2 more speeches and took the pledge, we were dismissed. i was the second group out of the three to collect our result slip.while waiting, i went to the coffeeshop outside the school to join jia hui and xue ling. at 1.22pm, jia hui and i went to collect our result slips. we proceed to level 2 to get our license.later, keong brought me lunch and accompanied me till 6+ before he went to work.it was really nice having may and jia hui's company, the encouragement, the assurance, the emotions that we went through. it would have been lonely without them. =)
