more party and celebrations
the weekend has past by in a zoom and its monday again. =(thursday: valentine's dayafter we helped reys with her valentine's cupcake surprise, we made our way to chip bee gardens. we went to this pizza place, la paolo pizza bar. while we were walking down the street, looking for the pizza bar, we past by pantry magic, a place where they sell lotsa baking equipments. although it was already closed, i was ecstatic to have found the place by chance. the bf muttered "i can foresee a big hole in my pocket." haha!saturday: party at grace'swe catched up over lunch (yummy!) followed by some poker action. in the late afternoon, grace, cp and i played some mahjong. then, we went to century square to catch a movie, p.s. i love you. i thought the show was very lengthy and it wasnt so much of a romantic show but a sad one. overall, i did enjoy the show. there were certain scenes that were very touching, you'll feel the ache in the heart. i cannot imagine the pain to lose someone who you love and lived together with for 10 years passing on, leaving you all alone to live your life at the age of 29. devastated.sunday: sunny day outthe initial plan was to go cycling with the bf, followed by dinner at carousel. some quiet time alone, just the 2 of us. but so many unexpected things happened.the cuzy has called some days back, asking me to go sentosa (flower festival) with her and granny so i could help send granny home after my cuzy went to work. i agreed, sending granny home wasnt too much a trouble. after the flower festival, the cuzy said granny wanted to go for lunch before going home. so i told the bf to send us to tampines for lunch but at the junction, granny pointed at vivo and asked what is that? since granny hasnt been there before, i thought it would be nice to bring her there. the bf (a lil displeased) had to travel quite a distance before we could make a detour back. we walked around the mall and finally settled for dian xiao er. the portion was pretty stingy and the price was a lil steep. after lunch, we went to daiso cos i wanted to check out the baking accessories but sad to say, there wasnt anything i thought could be of use to me. we were about to leave when my aunt jen asked me to get her lunch. by the time we send granny home, it was 4ish and the bf had to be home before 5pm. just when i was already feeling bad (and irritated cos the bf was very unhappy that he had to rush), my aunt cat called. we had to send granny to marina. what made it worse was my aunt didnt know where is the specific location, she actually told me it was at marina south. since when they had a mall there, i thought? then the uncle said its where metro used to be. when i said i didnt know where was that, he raised his voice and asked how could i not know. suddenly, everything is my fault?i called 100 to asked them for john lil's contact number, she asked if i was refering to marina square. i then asked her the outelts for robinsons and john lil had in marina. thereafter, i called the aunt to inform her that robinsons outlets are at centrepoint and raffles city and john lil at marina square. i got "reprimanded" again cos she said she said john lil, not robinsons. the location is finally settled. next problem, granny doesnt know her way around and she didnt had a phone with her. i was afraid she might get lost so i went with her to john lil while the bf made his way home to pass the car to his mum. after granny bought what she needed from john lil, i brought her to the food court to pack dinner for the rest. then, i sent her to the taxi stand and see her off.the bf rode my bike to pick me up from marina square. cycling plans are off cos its too late. =( we parked the bike behind claymore and went to shopped around at borders cos we werent hungry yet. there wasnt any books that really attracts me to the point i feel i needed to get it right away. but i was pretty tempted to get one on cake decorating. the book teaches readers to make different topping like royal icing, marzipan, buttercream icing... after borders, we made our way to royal plaza, carousel for our dinner. the place is pretty cramped and the concept reminds me of marche, with different feel, chairs and tables for different sections. the food counters were separated into 3 sections. japanese food and seafood were located near the entrance, cooked food were on the other end and desserts stretched acoss on one side of the restaurant. we thought the variety isnt too much to wow! us but a lil of all is enough to fill our stomachs. there were certain dishes that were pretty nice like the slipped lobster, potato salad, chicken rice ball, opera cake... i think half of my stomach was filled with desserts since i cant take sashimi (phobia due to my last bad experience). the best surprise, citibank cardmembers are entitled to 15% discount. instead of 55 per pax, we paid 47 per pax.although the day didnt turn out too good but it ended with a good note. =)(pictures will be posted soon!)
