one wish item down!
i'm back from taiwan!!!
i had fun although there were many hiccups along the way. the first day turned out totally the way we didnt expect it. and the 5 star hotel was so not 5-star, i think a 3-star hotel would probably do better than that. service is definitely not allowing your guests to carry their own luggages when there is 4 porters doing nothing more than chatting at the porch.
the "second" day, we had a city tour. we visited quite a number of places, understand a little about their history. initially, i thought the tour guide was pretty nice until i started to feel like her sentences are so scripted and she refused to tell me the answer to my question cos it wouldnt do her any good. then she brought us to her store and somewhat forces you to buy 1500 TWD worth of products, otherwise you'll have to carry it yourself while you walk through the crowded and busy streets of shihlin night market, our last destination, after which we'll have to find our own way back to the hotel.
overall, i enjoyed the trip and company. i liked the atmosphere of the crowded streets, especially at xi men ding. the people were generally friendly, other than some of the shop assistants. the train system is very efficient, just like in singapore. and its accessible around most parts of the city.
